To use a regular fax machine along with the virtual fax service, you need to purchase a Nextiva Fax Bridge. The Fax Bridge allows the analog machine to work with your Nextiva vFAX account so that you can fax to and from both your email and an analog fax machine.

Once you have received your fax bridge it will need to be activated on your account. Please contact Nextiva Support to activate the fax bridge. You will need the 12-digit serial number, located on the bottom of the device. Once the device is activated on your account follow the steps below to connect your fax bridge:

On the back of the device connect the ports in the following order:

FAX port should connect to the LINE port on the fax machine. Use a telephone cable (RJ11) to connect these ports.
WAN port connects to an internet source (router, switch, firewall, etc.) with an Ethernet cord (RJ45).
PWR port plugs into the provided power supply

NOTE: Nextiva does not use the FXS port. Nothing should be plugged into this port.

Once plugged in, the bridge will power within 1-5 minutes, depending on your network. You should see two green lights on the front and a blinking green and solid amber light on the back. You are now ready to send and receive faxes via your fax machine and Nextiva vFAX.
