Steps to Factory Reset

A device can be factory reset either from the physical device or from the web interface.
 

From the Device Settings

If the device does not fully start up, see the boot menu instructions.
 

  1. Press the Home button.
     
  2. Navigate to Settings.

  3. Navigate to Advanced Settings.

  4. Enter the admin password.  By default, it is 456.

    NOTE: Use the # key to alternate between uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and numbers.

  5. Select Administration Settings.

  6. Select Reset to Defaults.

  7. Select Reset to Factory.

  8. Press the Yes softkey.

  9. Reprovision the phone using the steps found in Poly IP Series - Provisioning and Configuring.

From the Boot Menu


The key combination to access the factory reset feature varies per model, please locate your model below for the correct keys to press on the keypad
 

  • For Soundpoint IP 300, 301, 500, 501, 550, 560, 600, 601, 650, 670, and 4000: 4, 6, 8 and * dial pad keys.
  • For Soundpoint IP 320, 321, 330, 331, 335, 430,450, 5000, and 7000: 1, 3, 5, and 7 dial pad keys.
  • For the SoundStation IP 6000: 6, 8, and * dial pad keys
  1. Unplug the phone and plug it back in to restart it.
     
  2. When the screen says Cancel softkey.
     
  3. Hold down 'Enter Password to Reset Settings.
     
  4. Enter the admin password.
     
    • Default Password: 456
       
    • NOTE: If you do not know the password, you can also enter the MAC address of the device (with lowercase letters).
       
    • Use the softkey that shows 1->Aa to change between numbers, uppercase letters, and lowercase letters.  Whatever is shown to the left of the arrow is the type of character entered into the phone (i.e. a->1A will cause lowercase letters to be entered).
       
  5. Press the OK softkey.
     
  6. If the password is correct, the phone will reboot and restore factory default settings.
     
  7. Reprovision the phone using the steps found in Poly IP Series - Provisioning and Configuring.

From the WebUI

NOTE: The Soundpoint / Soundstation phone will need to be on firmware version 4.x.x or higher, in order to be able to access the WebUI
 

  1. Press and hold 1, 4, 7 for about 5 seconds to obtain the IP address, MAC address and firmware version.
     
  2. On a computer on the same network as the phone, open a web browser. The phone has to be on the same local network as the computer for this to work.
     
  3. Navigate to https://[device IP address] (i.e. https://10.1.10.127).

  4. When prompted enter the password, by default, this is 456.
     
  5. Hover over Phone Backup & Restore.

  6. Click on Global Settings to expand the section.

  7. Click the Restore button.

  8. On the confirmation window that appears click Yes.

  9. Reprovision the phone using the steps found in Poly IP Series - Provisioning and Configuring.
