From the WebUI
In order to connect to the wireless network you will need to know the SSID (network name), Security Mode (typically WPA2), Cypher Type (TKIP or AES), and password/security key for your network. These can be found in your router settings.
- Plug the ethernet cord into the SW of the phone and the other end into their router, gateway, or switch.
- Open the Web Application by entering the IP of the phone into a web browser.
- Click on Add New Wi-Fi Profile
- A new box will pop up requesting specific information.
- You will need to get into their router or obtain the SSID, Security Mode (Typically will be WPA2), Cipher Type (TKIP or AES), and their shared key.
Note: If their Security Mode is WEP you will need Transmit Key, Key Length, and the Key itself.
- Enter all of the information gathered into the appropriate boxes
- Press Submit All Changes
- Click Enable to the right of your profile and hit OK.
From the Device

- Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the SW port on the back of the phone.
- Press the menu button on the phone. This is the one that looks like a piece of paper, with a folded corner.
- Select Network Configuration on the menu that appears on the screen.
- Make sure the Wi-Fi option is selected, and press the left or right arrow key on the navigation pad on the phone to turn the Wi-Fi on.
- You will know when it is on because you will see a checkmark to the right of the Wi-Fi option.
- Scroll down to the Wi-Fi Configuration option, and press the right arrow key on the navigation pad on the phone to go into the Wi-Fi Configuration menu.
- Select Wireless Profile from the menu.
- Press the Scan soft key at the bottom of the screen.
- Scroll to highlight your network, then press the Add soft key at the bottom of the screen.
- Make sure the Security Mode option is highlighted, and use the left and right arrow keys to select the security mode for your network.
- Scroll down to the Cipher Type option, and use the left and right arrow keys to select the cipher type for your network.
- Scroll down to the Key option. Use the keypad on your Cisco SPA525G phone to enter the security key for your Wi-Fi network.
NOTE: Depending on the security mode and cipher type you selected previously, the field where you will enter the key for your Wi-Fi network may be labeled differently. As an example, for WPA2 Personal, with AES COMP encryption, this will say WPA Shared Key.
- Press the Save soft key at the bottom of the screen.
- Make sure the network you added is highlighted on the screen, and press the Connect soft key at the bottom of the screen.
