Setup your SNOM PA-1 Paging Adapter

Basic Setup

  1. Assign a generic SIP device to the user that the PA-1 is going to be configured on.
     
  2. Make note of the following information
     
    • SIP Username
       
    • Authentication Name
       
    • Authentication Password
       
  3. Press the IP/Reset button and the device will page its active IP address.
     
  4. On a computer on the same network as the phone, open a web browser. The phone has to be on the same local network as the computer for this to work.
     
  5. Navigate to the IP address of the PA-1.  By default, the device has no admin password.
     
  6. On the left-hand side select the identity that will be associated with the Nextiva user.
     
  7. Fill in the following fields in the login tab:
     
    • Identity Active: On
       
    • Displayname: Can be any name for the user.
       
    • Account: Line port/SIP username
       
    • Password: Authentication Password
       
    • Registrar: prod.voipdnsservers.com:5062
       
    • Proxy: prod.voipdnsservers.com:5062
       
    • Authentication Username: Authentication Name
       
    • Mailbox: *86
       
  8. Click Apply.

  9. Select the SIP tab at the top of the page.
     
  10. Set the Server Type Support to Broadsoft.
     
  11. Click Apply.

  12. Select the RTP tab.
     
  13. Make the following changes
     
    • Codec: g722,pcmu,telephone-event
       
    • RTP Encryption: Off
       
    • Media Transport Offer: UDP
       
  14. Click Save.
     
  15. There will be an option now at the top of the page to reboot the device. Click the Reboot button.
     

 

Loud Ringer Configuration

The PA-1 can be used as a loud ringer in addition to a regular overhead page.  This will require a second line to be configured to the PA-1.  Additional configuration in the web interface will need to happen:
 

  1. Select Preferences on the left​​​​​.
     
  2. Set Use Headset Device to RJ Connector

  3. Set Ringer Device for Headset to Use Headset
     
  4. Click Save.
     
  5. Select the identity configured for the ringer.
     
  6. Select the SIP tab at the top of the page.
     
  7. Set Auto Answer to Off.
     
  8. Click Save.
