Nextiva X-8XX - Troubleshooting Tips

Sending DHCP Request

This error appears when the phone is not able to get an IP address from the network.  Pushing the physical X button will allow you to skip this message and access the phone menu.  Use the steps below to troubleshoot this issue:

1. Ensure the ethernet cord is plugged into the correct port on the back of the phone.
    
2. Swap out the ethernet cable.
    
3. Try connecting directly to the router or a working location.
    
4. Reboot the phone.
    
5. Disable LLDP on the phone and reboot the phone.
    
   1. Press the Settings button on the phone.
       
   2. Scroll down and select the Network option.
      
      
       
   3. Scroll down and select the Advanced option.
      
      
       
   4. Scroll down to LLDP and select it to disable it.
      
      
       
   5. The phone will reboot to apply the change.
       
6. Work with your IT team to create a DHCP reservation for the phone on the router.
    
7. Work with your IT team to assign a static IP address on the phone.
    

Call Waiting Tone Playing

If you do not want any audible notification for call waiting while using the phone, it can be disabled through the phone menu.  Please be aware that any changes made through the phone menu will be reverted when the device reboots.  To prevent this from reverting, please submit a case to the Nextiva support team with a list of devices to adjust.  Please include the MAC address of the device(s) or user(s) the device is assigned to, and the behavior for call waiting notifications.

1. Press the Settings button.
    
2. Scroll and select Call Features.
    
3. Scroll and select Incoming Calls.
    
4. Scroll and select Call Waiting.
    
5. Select Indicator.
    
6. Choose the desired option
    
   • On - Visual and audible notifications
      
   • Visual only - no audible notifications
      
   • Ringer - no visual notifications
      
   • Off - Call waiting is disabled on the phone
