Article 000001851 · Updated Jul 15, 2025 · 4,199 views
The Poly OBiWifi adapter allows a USB-equipped Polycom VoIP adapter or VVX phone to connect to the Internet over a Wi-Fi network. The VVX 401, VVX 411, VVX 501, and VVX 601 all have USB ports.
Prerequisites
- Before setting up a wireless network, make sure that you connect the VVX phone to its power adapter.
- You must be on firmware version 6.0 or higher.
Setup
Note: VVX phones do not support WEP.
- Insert the Obi Wi-Fi wireless network adapter into the USB port of your VVX phone.
- The phone's screen prompts A Wi-Fi Dongle is connected. Press Start to begin Wi-Fi setup.
- Select Start.
- Select Wi-Fi, then select On.
- Select Yes to reboot the phone.
- After the phone reboots, Wi-Fi is enabled. Go to Settings > Basic > WiFi to connect to an access point.
The phone scans for wireless networks and lists any that are available. If the phone does not automatically scan, select Scan to manually initiate a Wi-Fi network scan.
Note: The network administrator can configure the regulatory domain for your location and radio frequency bands on which the wireless network operates. If not configured, the phone uses the Global regulatory domain and 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz default radio bands.
