The Cisco SPA analog telephone adapter (ATA) devices are needed if you want to use an analog phone (or a supported device) with Nextiva.  NOTE: This device is intended to be used with an analog telephone (not a fax machine, paging system, or door system).

For help setting up Cisco SPA phones, see Cisco SPA Series - Provisioning Instructions.

Cisco ATA 192 Web Interface Access

As SPA 192 has routing capabilities, access from the WAN IP may be blocked. That means if this device is plugged somewhere in the network (to the router you are connected to), but your PC is not directly connected to the SPA adapter, it may not let you into the web interface via IP distributed by the router in some cases.

An update for Cisco SPA 192 now allows a computer on the same network to access it through its default IP address, 192.168.15.1.  If this does not work, you will need to directly connect the computer to the ethernet port of the SPA 192 in order to access the web interface.

Auto-Provisioning Instructions

  1. Obtain the IP address of the device

    1. Plug an analog phone into Line 1 on the ATA.

    2. Pick up the handset and dial ****.

    3. When the menu plays, dial the code 110#.

    4. Listen to the IP address of the device.

  2. If trying to provision a SPA 122, do the following to ensure a connection:

    1. Connect the SPA 122 to the network using the Internet port.

    2. Directly connect a computer to the SPA 122 using the Ethernet port.

  3. Enter the IP address into a browser on the same network as the ATA.

  4. Log in to the WebUI as Admin.

    • Default Username: admin
    • Default Password: admin

NOTE: The SPA 122 can cause call quality issues because it performs NAT (Double NAT). Make sure to disable NAT by following these steps:
For Cisco 112, 191, or 192, skip to step 5. For the SPA 122:

    1. Navigate to the Network Settings page and switch the NAT dropdown to Bridge.

    2. Click Submit.

    3. The device will restart.

  1. Click Voice at the top of the page.

  2. Click Provisioning on the left-hand side of the page.

  3. In the Profile Rule text box enter the profile rule based on the device:

    • SPA 19X: https://dm.nextiva.com/dms/Nextiva_Service_Provider/Cisco/SPA19x/$MA.xml

    • SPA 112: http://dm.nextiva.com/dms/Nextiva_Service_Provider/Linksys/SPA112/$MAU.xml

  4. Click Submit at the bottom of the page.

  5. The device will take approximately 5 minutes to provision.

  6. Once provisioned and registered, the line lights will turn solid green, indicating a connection.  If you only have one line assigned to the device, only one line will turn green.
