Configure Plantronics CS540 with Nextiva X-8xx Phone

EHS Equipment

A: EHS Box.  One side has an RJ12 port, and the other side has an RJ-45 port and a 3.5mm port.


B: Double-sided RJ-12 cable.  The labels may read EXT and EHS box.


C: Double-sided 3.5mm stereo cable


D: Telephone Interface Cable

Instructions

1. Connect part (C) 3.5mm cable to EHS Box (A) 3.5mm port.
    
2. Connect the other side of part (C) 3.5mm cable to the middle 3.5mm port on the back of the CS540 base.
    
3. Connect part (B) RJ12 connector with tag "EHS BOX" to EHS Box (A) on the side with the single port. NOT the same side as the 3.5mm port.
    
4. Connect the other side of part (B) RJ12 connector with tag "EXT" to the back of the Nextiva X-8xx in the EHS port.
    
5. Take the Telephone Interface Cable (D) that came in the box with the CS540 headset and connect the larger end into the CS540 base.
    
6. Connect the small end of the Telephone Interface Cable (D) into the headset port on the back of the Nextiva X-8xx phone.
    
7. Make sure the switch on the bottom of the CS540 headset base is set to "A".
    
8. If your headset is already charged, put it on and press the Headset key on your Nextiva X-8xx desk phone and try making a test call.
