Provisioning Instructions
- Add the device to the account and assign it to a user.
- Determine the IP Address
- Press the MENU button.
- Scroll down and select Status.
- Select Network. The IP address of the phone is displayed on the screen.
- Press the MENU button.
- Enter the provisioning server into the phone
- On a computer on the same network as the phone, type the IP address into a web browser.
- Log in to the phone
- Default username: admin
- Default password: admin
- Default username: admin
- Click SERVICING at the top-left.
- Enter
http://dm.nextiva.com/dms/Nextiva_Service_Provider/VTech_VSP600/into the Server URL box.
- Click Save.
- On a computer on the same network as the phone, type the IP address into a web browser.
- Reboot the phone from the WebUI
- While still logged in to the phone and on the Provisioning screen, click Reboot on the far-left side of the screen.
- Click the blue Reboot button in the middle of the screen. The phone reboots, provisions, and registers to Nextiva.
- While still logged in to the phone and on the Provisioning screen, click Reboot on the far-left side of the screen.
Handset Registration
Registering the Handset to the Base
- Make sure the handset has a charged battery before proceeding. Also, make sure the base station is connected to power.
- Press MENU on the handset. The Main Menu appears.
- Press the down arrow to scroll to User settings, and press SELECT.
- Press the down arrow to scroll to Registration, and press SELECT.
- With Handset highlighted, press SELECT. The handset screen displays instructions. Press NEXT to continue reading the instructions.
- On the base station, press the HANDSET LOCATOR button for at least four seconds, and then release the button. Both LEDs on the base station begin to flash.
- Press the # key on the handset to begin registration. The process takes up to 10 seconds to complete.
- When the first handset registers, it beeps and the screen displays HANDSET 1.
NOTE: If the handset fails to register, place it in the charger again for a few seconds, remove it and repeat the registration process.
De-Registering the Handset to the Base
- Press MENU on the handset. The Main Menu appears.
- Press the down arrow to scroll to User settings, and press SELECT.
- Press the down arrow to scroll to Registration, and press SELECT.
- Press the down arrow to highlight Reregistration and press SELECT. The handset screen displays a list of registered handsets.
- Highlight the name of the handset you want to deregister, and then press SELECT.
- On the base station, press the HANDSET LOCATOR button for at least four seconds, and then release the button. Both LEDs on the base station begin to flash.
- On the handset, enter the System PIN (1592 by default), and then press SELECT to begin deregistration. The deregistration process takes up to 10 seconds to complete. When the handset deregisters, it beeps and the screen displays Unregistered.
Note: The handset enters an energy-saving charging mode after being deregistered. All cordless telephone functions except handset-battery charging are disabled. Energy-saving charging mode is deactivated after the handset registers to the base station.
Advanced Network Configuration
Static IP
Static IPs must be configured through the WebUI:
- Open the phone’s menu.
- Scroll down and select Status.
- Select Network.
- Document the IP Address the phone is currently on.
- Navigate to the phone’s IP Address using your web browser.
- Log in as an admin. The default credentials are:
- Username: admin
- Password: admin
- Click on the Network header at the top of the page.
- Select the Static IP radio button.
- Input the static IP information.
Enable DHCP
DHCP must be enabled through the WebUI:
- Open the phone’s menu.
- Scroll down and select Status.
- Select Network.
- Document the IP Address the phone is currently on.
- Navigate to the phone’s IP Address using your web browser.
- Log in as an admin. The default credentials are:
- Username: admin
- Password: admin
- Click on the Network header at the top of the page.
- Select the DHCP radio button.
Factory Reset
On the Base Station
- Take a paperclip or small instrument.
- Push the reset button on the rear of the base unit for 15 seconds.
- If the reset is successful, the VoIP LED will flash slowly.
Through the WebUI
- Determine the device IP address
- Press the MENU button.
- Scroll down and select Status.
- Select Network. The IP address of the phone is displayed on the screen.
- Press the MENU button.
- Open a web browser on your computer, and navigate to the IP address of the phone. You are prompted to log in.
- Log in as an admin (by default the username and password are both admin). The System Status screen displays.
- Click SERVICING at the top-left.
- Click Provisioning on the far-left side of the screen.
- Scroll down, then click Reset at the bottom of the screen.
- Click OK when the pop-up message appears asking if you want to reset the phone to defaults.
- Click Save.
