Provisioning Instructions
- Add the device to the account and assign it to a user.
- Determine the IP Address
- Press the MENU button.
- Scroll down and select Status.
- Select Network. The IP address of the phone displays on the screen.
- Press the MENU button.
- Enter the provisioning server into the phone
- On a computer on the same network as the phone type the IP address into a web browser.
- Log in to the phone
- Default username: admin
- Default password: admin
- Default username: admin
- Click SERVICING at the top-left.
- Enter
http://dm.nextiva.com/dms/Nextiva_Service_Provider/VTech_VSP725/into the Server URL box.
- Click Save.
- On a computer on the same network as the phone type the IP address into a web browser.
- Reboot the phone from the WebUI
- While still logged in to the phone and on the Provisioning screen, click Reboot on the far-left side of the screen.
- Click the blue Reboot button in the middle of the screen. The phone reboots, provisions, and registers to Nextiva.
- While still logged in to the phone and on the Provisioning screen, click Reboot on the far-left side of the screen.

Speed Dials
The easiest way to use speed dials on this phone is to set up either Speed Dial 8 or Speed Dial 100
Using the Phone
Making a call
- Go off-hook.
- Dial the 10-digit phone number or extension of the party you want to call, then press the Dial softkey.
- When finished speaking, go on-hook.
Making a Second Call
Managing multiple calls is easier with line mirroring enabled. Submit a case to Nextiva support to enable this feature.
With Line Mirroring
- While on a call, press HOLD to put the current party on hold.
- Press the New softkey. You hear a dial tone.
- Dial the extension or 10-digit phone number of the party you want to call, then press the Dial softkey.
NOTE: After you are connected, you can switch between the two calls by pressing the up navigation key, then pressing the Resume softkey.
- When finished speaking, press the End softkey. The other call is still placed on hold.
- Press the Resume softkey to return to the other call.
Without Line Mirroring
- While on a call, press the second programmable key on the right side of the phone. The original call is placed on hold, and you hear a dial tone.
- Dial the extension or 10-digit phone number of the party you want to call, then press the Dial softkey. NOTE: After you are connected, you can switch between the two calls by pressing the first and second programmable keys on the right side of the phone.
- When finished speaking, press the End softkey. The other call is still placed on hold.
- Press the Resume softkey to return to the other call.
Accepting a Call
- While the phone is ringing, go off-hook, or press the SPEAKER or HEADSET button.
NOTE: Alternatively, you can press the Answer softkey at the bottom of the screen to answer the call using the speakerphone or headset if configured.
- When finished speaking, go on-hook or press the End softkey to disconnect the call.
Accepting a 2nd Call
Managing multiple calls is easier with line mirroring enabled. Submit a case to Nextiva support to enable this feature.

- When you see the prompt on the screen that another call is coming in, press the Answer softkey at the bottom of the screen. The original call is placed on hold, and you are speaking to the second party.

- When finished speaking, press the End softkey. The other call is still placed on hold.
- Press the Resume softkey to return to the other call.

Transferring a call
Warm Transfer
- While on a call, press the Transfer softkey. The party you were speaking to is placed on hold, and you hear a dial tone.
- Dial the extension or 10-digit phone number of the party you want to transfer the call to, then press the Dial softkey. Wait for the party to answer.
NOTE: To instead cancel the transfer, press the Cancel softkey, then press the Resume softkey to return to the original party.
- When the party is ready to accept the transfer, press the Transf softkey. The party that was on hold is transferred to the second party you dialed, and you are no longer connected to either party.
Blind Transfer
- While on a call, press the Transfer softkey. The party you were speaking to is placed on hold, and you hear a dial tone.
- Press the Blind softkey.
- Dial the extension or 10-digit phone number of the party you want to transfer the call to, then press the Transf softkey. The party that was on hold is transferred to the second party you dialed, and you are no longer connected to either party.
NOTE: To instead cancel the transfer, press the Cancel softkey, then press the Resume softkey to return to the original party.
Conferencing
- While on a call, press the Conf softkey. The party you were speaking to is placed on hold, and you hear a dial tone.
- Dial the extension or 10-digit phone number of the party you want to conference in, then press the Dial softkey.
NOTE: To instead cancel the conference call, press the Cancel softkey, then press the Resume softkey to return to the original party.
- When ready to bring the original party back in, press the Conf softkey again. The party that was on hold is conferenced in, and you are speaking to both parties.
NOTE: To split a conference call into separate calls, press the Split softkey. After you do so, both parties are placed on hold. Press the Resume softkey to resume the call with the party displaying on the screen, or press the up navigation key to switch to the other party, then press the Resume softkey to resume that call.
Alternatively, press the Bridge softkey to leave the conference call but keep both parties connected to each other.
Pairing a VSP601
The VTech VSP725 has a built-in DECT 6.0 radio. This enables the device to pair to either the VTech VSP505 DECT headset or VTech VSP601 cordless handset. The 725 can support only 1 headset and 1 handset at any given time. To connect a DECT accessory to the VTech VSP725 follow the instructions below:
On the Vtech VSP725 Deskset
- Enter the Menu.
- Select User Settings or press 3.
- Select DECT Headset or press 5 if you are connecting a headset, or select DECT Handset or press 6 if you are connecting a handset.
- Select Registration. The screen will display Registering.
On the VTech VSP601 Handset
- Enter the Menu.
- Select User Settings.
- Select Registration.
- Select Handset.
- Press the Next Softkey.
- Press #.
- After a moment the handset will request a PIN, enter 1591.
- The handset will pair after 1-2 minutes.
While paired, you can answer a call on either the handset or the deskset but you cannot transfer a call from the handset to the deskset or vice versa.
Factory Reset
Through the Phone's Menu
- Push the MENU button.
- Scroll down and select Admin Settings.
NOTE: To select a menu option, press the SELECT button.
- Press the 123 softly to switch to the letters, then enter admin (if provisioned the PW is nextiva) as the password.
- Press the Enter softkey.
- Select Reset to default.
- Press the Yes softkey to confirm you want to factory reset the phone.
Through the WebUI
- Determine the device IP address
- Press the MENU button.
- Scroll down and select Status.
NOTE: To select a menu option, press the SELECT button.
- Select Network. The IP address of the phone displayed on the screen.
- Press the MENU button.
- Open a web browser on your computer, and navigate to the IP address of the phone. You are prompted to log in.
- Log in to the phone
- Default username: admin
- Default password: admin
- Default username: admin
- Click SERVICING at the top-left.
- Click Provisioning on the far-left side of the screen.
- Scroll down, then click Reset at the bottom of the screen.
- Click OK when the pop-up message appears asking if you want to reset the phone to defaults.
- Click Save.
