VTech - VSP726
Provisioning Instructions
- Add the device to the account and assign it to a user.
- Determine the IP Address
- Press the MENU button.
- Scroll down and select Status.
- Select Network. The IP address of the phone is displayed on the screen.
- Press the MENU button.
- Enter the provisioning server into the phone
- On a computer on the same network as the phone type the IP address into a web browser.
- Log in to the phone
- Default username: admin
- Default password: admin
- Default username: admin
- Click SERVICING at the top-left.
- Enter
http://dm.nextiva.com/dms/Nextiva_Service_Provider/VTech_VSP726/into the Server URL box.
- Click Save.
- On a computer on the same network as the phone type the IP address into a web browser.
- Reboot the phone from the WebUI
- While still logged in to the phone and on the Provisioning screen, click Reboot on the far-left side of the screen.
- Click the blue Reboot button in the middle of the screen. The phone reboots, provisions, and registers to Nextiva.
- While still logged in to the phone and on the Provisioning screen, click Reboot on the far-left side of the screen.
Advanced Network Configuration
Disabling DHCP
- Press the MENU button.
- Scroll down and select Admin settings option by using the SELECT softkey.
- Press the 123 softkey to switch to letters, then enter nextiva as the password. If this does not work, the password may be admin.
- Press the Enter softkey.
- Select Network setting.
- Press the right key on the navigation wheel on IPv4 to get to the Mode selection.
- Press the right key on the navigation wheel in IP Type and see the message Enabling Static IP will set Static DNS in use.
- Press the Save softkey.
After disabling DHCP, the home screen will display “Line(s) unregistered”, and programmable key 1 will blink orange until either the phone is configured with a static IP or DHCP is re-enabled. Follow the steps below to configure a static IP address:
Configure a Static IP Address
- Press the MENU button.
- Scroll down and select Admin settings by pressing the SELECT softkey.
- Press the 123 softkey to switch to letters, then enter nextiva as the password. If this does not work, the password may be admin.
- Press the Enter softkey.
- Select Network setting.
- Press the right key on the navigation wheel on IPv4 to get to the Mode selection.
- Press the right key on the navigation wheel in IP Type and see the message Enabling Static IP will set Static DNS in use.
- Using the dial pad, enter the desired static IP address for the phone.NOTE: To enter a period between the octets in the IP address, press the Add dot softkey.
- Press the down navigation key to highlight the Subnet mask field, and then enter the subnet mask.
- Press the down navigation key to highlight the Gateway field, and then enter the default gateway IP address.
- Press the Save softkey.
After configuring the static IP address, you need to configure the primary and secondary DNS servers.
DNS Server Configuration
- Press the MENU button.
- Scroll down and select Admin settings.NOTE: To select a menu option, press the SELECT button.
- Press the 123 softkey to switch to letters, then enter nextiva as the password. If this does not work, the password may be admin.
- Press the Enter softkey.
- Select Network setting.
- Press the right key on the navigation wheel on IPv4 to get to the Mode selection.
- Select Set Static DNS and press SELECT.
- Press the down navigation key to highlight the DNS 1 field, then enter the IP address of the primary DNS server; 8.8.8.8 is recommended.
- Press the down navigation key to highlight the DNS 2 field, then enter the IP address of the secondary DNS server; 8.8.4.4 is recommended.
- Press the Save softkey.
Enabling DHCP
If the phone displays an incorrect time and date (00:00 and 01/01/14), that may be caused by the phone being configured with an incorrect static IP address. Below are the steps to enable DHCP on the phone:
- Press the MENU button.
- Scroll down and select Admin settings by pressing the SELECT softkey.
- Press the 123 softkey to switch to letters, then enter nextiva as the password. If this does not work, the password may be admin.
- Press the Enter softkey.
- Select Network setting.
- Select DHCP.
- Press the right navigation button to change the DHCP status to Enabled.
- Press the Save softkey.
- Reboot the phone by disconnecting the power supply from the back of the phone, and then reconnecting it.
Pairing a VSP601
The VTech VSP726 has a built-in DECT 6.0 radio. This enables the device to pair to either the VTech VSP505 DECT headset or VTech VSP601 cordless handset. The 726 can support only 1 headset and 1 handset at any time. To connect a DECT accessory to the VTech VSP726 follow the instructions below:
On the Vtech VSP726 Deskset
- Enter the Menu.
- Select User Settings or press 3.
- Select DECT Headset or press 5 if you are connecting a headset, or select DECT Handset or press 6 if you are connecting a handset.
- Select Registration. The screen will display Registering.
On the VTech VSP601 Handset
- Enter the Menu.
- Select User Settings.
- Select Registration.
- Select Handset.
- Press the Next Softkey.
- Press #.
- After a moment the handset will request a PIN, enter 1591.
- The handset will pair after 1-2 minutes.
While paired, you can answer a call on either the handset or the deskset but you cannot transfer a call from the handset to the deskset or vice versa.
Factory Reset
Through the Phone's Menu
- Push the MENU button.
- Scroll down and select Admin Settings.
NOTE: To select a menu option, press the SELECT button.
- Press the 123 softly to switch to the letters, then enter admin (if provisioned the PW is nextiva) as the password.
- Press the Enter softkey.
- Select Reset to default.
- Press the Yes softkey to confirm you want to factory reset the phone.
Through the WebUI
- Determine the device IP address
- Press the MENU button.
- Scroll down and select Status.
NOTE: To select a menu option, press the SELECT button.
- Select Network. The IP address of the phone is displayed on the screen.
- Press the MENU button.
- Open a web browser on your computer, and navigate to the IP address of the phone. You are prompted to log in.
- Log in with admin for the username and admin (if provisioned the PW is nextiva) for the password. The System Status screen displays.
- Click SERVICING at the top-left.
- Click Provisioning on the far-left side of the screen.
- Scroll down, then click Reset at the bottom of the screen.
- Click OK when the pop-up message appears asking if you want to reset the phone to defaults.
- Click Save.
