Navigate the device screen
The 8865 device screen provides several buttons to navigate more features:
Line keys (highlighted in yellow) allow for multiple configurations to perform different actions such as monitoring other extensions (busy lamp field), custom call parking, and simultaneous call management (line mirroring)
Soft keys (highlighted in green) give contextual options depending on how you interact with the phone. When idle, the soft keys offer generic options such as Call History, DND (Do Not Disturb), or the Settings menu. During a live call, the soft keys change to offer more call control (transfer, hold, etc).
How to transfer
The 8865 is capable of both a Blind and Warm transfer. The below steps can be used with either the Transfer soft key or the Transfer hard key.
Blind transfer
- Press the Transfer soft key (or Transfer hard key
) during the call.
- Dial the number/extension you wish to transfer to.
NOTE: If BLF is enabled; you can press the line key for the monitored extension to auto-dial that extension. - Immediately press the Transfer hard key
to complete.
Warm transfer
- Press the Transfer soft key (or Transfer hard key
) during the call.
- Dial the number/extension you wish to transfer to.
NOTE: If BLF is enabled; you can press the line key for the monitored extension to auto-dial that extension. - WAIT for the dial tone and the phone call out to the destination number/extension
- Once the third party answers and is ready to receive the transfer, press the Transfer hard key
or the Transfer soft key
Conference Call
- During a call, press the Conference hard key
.
- Dial the number/extension and then press the Call softkey
- To join/merge the calls, press the Conference hard key
again. Your conference call is now live.
- Select the End Call soft key to disconnect the third person and go back to the original call again.
