Unable to Pair Handset/Deskset
When you are not able to pair a handset or deskset, its often due to one of these scenarios:
- The handset or deskset is already paired with too many devices.
- Unpair the handset/deskset from all other bases and then try to pair it again.
- See Nextiva X-650 - Handset Registration/Deregistration for instructions.
- The base has too many devices paired to it.
- Unpair extra handsets or desksets from the base.
- See Nextiva X-650 - Handset Registration/Deregistration for instructions.
- The handset or deskset is in automatic pairing mode.
- If the handset or deskset asks Do you want to switch to manual paring? Press the select button and then follow the instructions in Nextiva X-650 - Handset Registration/Deregistration
Handsets Losing Connection
This usually indicates there is something interfering with the signal coming to/from the base unit. To resolve this:
- Ensure the base unit is not covered up or surrounded, especially by metal objects.
- Make sure the base unit is at least 10 feet away from any wireless routers operating on the 2.4 GHz spectrum (by default most wireless routers have the 2.4 GHz spectrum enabled).
- Ensure no microwave oven is between the handset and the base (microwave ovens use a frequency of about 2.45 GHz to warm food which can interfere with the DECT signal).
- Deregister and Re-register the handset to the base. See Nextiva X-650 - Handset Registration/Deregistration for instructions.
Out of Range or No Power at Base
This indicates the handset is unable to communicate with the base station. If the base station is powered on and the handset is near it, the handset may need to be re-registered to the base.
To resolve this issue, try to deregister and re-register the handset to the base unit. See Nextiva X-650 - Handset Registration/Deregistration for instructions.
