The M1 SIP DECT Repeater can be used on both the X-650 and VSP 650 base units.  This device can add up to 500 feet of range and support.

Each base station can have up to 3 repeaters paired to it, and each repeater can support 2 handsets at a time.  You can cascade up to 2 repeaters to extend the range further.

Pairing Instructions

To pair the repeater to the base unit:

  1. Verify that repeater mode is enabled on the base.

  2. On the X-650 base unit, hold the HANDSET LOCATOR button for at least 4 seconds until both lights flash.

  3. Plug in the M1 repeater.

  4. Hold the setup button for 5 seconds.  The repeater will start to register with the base station.

    1. During registration, the status light on the repeater will flash red, then green.

    2. Once the repeater is registered, the light will flash green 3 times, then go steady.

No extra configuration needs to be done to get cascade mode working.  Pair all repeaters to the base unit, then move the repeaters so that the cascade units are out of range of the base, but in range of another repeater.

Troubleshooting Tips

If the repeater does not pair with the base station:

  • If they aren't already near each other, move the repeater closer to the base station and try again.  Once paired you can move the repeater back to the desired location.

  • Check for interference from other electronic devices. Wifi using the 2.4 GHz spectrum has been known to cause signal interference with DECT devices.

  • Ensure that there aren't any thick walls or other objects that might block the signal between the base and repeater

  • The base unit supports a maximum of 3 repeaters; ensure that you aren't trying to pair a 4th repeater.
