Nextiva X-658 - Quick Reference Guide

The X-658 is a DECT deskset that pairs to the Nextiva X-650 cordless base unit.  For instructions on how to pair this device to the X-650 click here.

Placing a Call on Hold

To place a call on hold, press the the Hold button on the right-hand side of the phone. If your device doesn't have the physical button, use the hold soft key located directly below the bottom of the screen. 

To retrieve the call, select the physical Hold button again.

Transferring a Call

The X-658 supports both warm (attended) and cold (blind) transferring.

Warm (attended) Transfer

Warm or attended transfers allow you to talk to the receiving party before the transfer is complete.  To perform a warm transfer using the X-658 deskset:

1. While on a call, select the Menu/Func key located directly below the bottom of the screen
   
   

2. Scroll down to highlight Transfer and press Select
   
   

3. Highlight A call (announce) and press Select
   
   

4. Dial the phone number or extension
   
   

5. Once the third party answers, press the Menu/Func key
   
   

6. Choose Transfer, and then press Select
   
   

7. The call will be transferred to the receiving party.

Cold (blind) Transfer

Cold or blind transfers will send the caller directly to the receiving party without you getting an opportunity to speak to the receiving party.  To perform a cold transfer using the X-658 deskset:

1. While on a call, select the Menu/Func key located directly below the bottom of the screen
   
   

2. Scroll down to highlight Transfer and press Select
   
   

3. Dial the phone number or extension
   
   

4. Press Menu/Func key, highlight Transfer, and press Select
   
   

Conference Calling

You can hold a local conference on the X-658 deskset allowing multiple people to talk together.

1. With an active call on the phone, press the Menu/Func. button on the phone
    

2. Scroll down and select Conference.
    

3. In the menu that appears select one of the two options
    

• A new party
   

  1. Enter the phone number of the party you are adding to the call
      

  2. After they answer, press the Select button to join the callers together
      

  3. When the call is finished hang up
      

• A held party
   

  1. Use the Up/Down button to select the call on hold to conference with
      

  2. The active call will be on hold and you can speak to the other party
      

  3. When ready to start the conference press Select.
      

  4. When the call is finished hang up

Call Park

To park a call against an extension:

1. While on a call, select the select the “Menu/Func” key

2. Select “Transfer” and then “A call (blind)”

3. Dial *68 and the extension and then #

4. Select the “Menu/Func” key, choose Transfer, and press Select.

To retrieve a Parked Call

1. Dial *88 and # to retrieve the parked call on your phone.  If retrieving from a different phone, dial *88 and the destination extension, and then select #.

Call History

Call history can be accessed by pressing the Call History button on the phone.

From here, use the left and right directional buttons to review missed calls, received calls, and dialed calls.
