Yealink W70B - KLE Setup

Article 000003685 · Updated Nov 13, 2025 · 2,476 views

The W70B can be configured to do Key Line Emulation, allowing calls to be easily passed between handsets.  To request your W70B to be configured this way, please submit a case to our support team.  Include the MAC address of the W70B base units that you want configured.

NOTE: This feature works best with only one user assigned to the W70B. If you have multiple users assigned to the same W70B, we recommend adjusting the device assignment so only one user is assigned.

Once configured, the handsets will show line status at the bottom of the screen.

Hold and Retrieve

With this configuration, calls can be placed on hold on one handset and picked up, or retrieved, from another handset.

To place a call on hold:

  1. With an active call, press the Options softkey.

  2. Scroll to highlight Hold and press the OK button.

  3. The call will be placed on hold, and other handsets will see a pause ⏸️ symbol over that line.

To retrieve a held call from another handset:

  1. Press the Line softkey.

  2. Highlight the held call.

  3. Press the Detail softkey or press OK.

  4. Press Retrieve.

Transfer and Conference with other Handsets

When initializing a transfer or conference call, the handset will now provide an option to choose another handset on the same base unit. If multiple handsets are on the same conference call, the call will remain active even if the originating handset disconnects.

To transfer or conference another handset:

  1. Press the Options softkey.

  2. Scroll and select Transfer or Conference.

  3. Select the handset to transfer the call to or conference.

  4. The receiving handset will give a very short ring, then auto-answer the call.

  5. Complete the transfer or conference on the originating handset by pressing the Transfer or Conference softkey.
