Setting Static IP On Poly Phone

Before proceeding with setting a static IP address on your device, confirm with your network administrator that the IP address you plan to assign is available to use.

Through the Device

Through the Main Menu

Edge SeriesVVX Series
  1. Access the Menu of the device.
     
  2. Scroll and select Settings.

     

  3. Select Advanced and enter the password (default: 456 or set by the user at first boot). 


     
  4. Select Administration Settings.

     

  5. Select Network Configuration.

     

  6. Select Network Interfaces.



  7. Select Ethernet Menu.

     

  8. Select IPv4 Configuration.
     


  9. Disable DHCP by selecting the option and pressing the Edit softkey.
     


  10. Enter the static IP address information.
     


  11. Press the Exit softkey four times.

  12. Choose Save Config.
     


  13. The phone will reboot and apply the change.
  1. Access the Menu of the device.

  5. Select Network Configuration.

     

  6. Select Ethernet Menu.

     

  7. Select IPv4 Configuration.
     


  8. Disable DHCP by selecting the option, pressing the Edit softkey, and selecting Disabled.
     


  9. Enter the static IP address information.
     


  10. Press the Back softkey 3 times.
     
  11. Choose Save Config.
     


  12. The phone will reboot and apply the change.


 

 


 

Through the Boot Menu

  1. Reboot the device
     
  2. Press the Cancel softkey.
     
  3. Select the Setup softkey.

  4. Enter the password (default: 456 or set by the user at first boot). 

  5. Select Ethernet.

  6. Select IPv4 Configuration.

  7. On the DHCP Client option, press the Edit softkey and scroll to Disabled.

  8. Enter the static IP information.

  9. Press the Exit softkey three times.

  10. Choose Save Config.

 


 

Through the WebUI

You can also set a static IP through the WebUI. Follow these steps:

 

  1. Locate the IP Address of the device by holding down 1,4,7 for 5 seconds.
     
  2. Open a web browser and navigate to the IP address of the device.  The computer must be on the same network as the device for this to work.

    • NOTE: It may be necessary to add https:// before the IP address to access the device.
       
  3. Log in as an administrator. (default password: 456 or set by the user at first boot). 
     
  4. Hover over Settings at the top, hover over Network about halfway down the list, then click Ethernet.

  5. Click the + sign next to IPv4.
     
  6. Select the Disable radio button under DHCP to open up the options for IP address.
     
  7. Enter the Static IP Address, Gateway, and Subnet Mask to use on the device.
     
  8. Click the + sign next to General and enter your DNS server information.  We recommend the following: 

    • DNS: 8.8.8.8

    • Alternate DNS: 8.8.4.4
       
  9. Click Save to save the changes. The phone should reboot and come back online with the new information.
