Unity - Calls and Call Control

Article 000001525 · Updated Jun 26, 2025 · 4,872 views
Unity is a call control application, not a softphone. It is used to control the primary device assigned to your user in the Nextiva voice portal.  It cannot make calls on its own.

Answering A Call

From the Dashboard

To answer an inbound call, click the answer button on the top of the dashboard.  This will cause your primary device to answer the call on speakerphone or on a headset depending on how it's configured.

Be aware that NextivaOne is not considered a primary device.

From Call Pop

When receiving a call, Nextiva Unity provides a desktop call pop-up that will allow you to answer calls by clicking on the answer calls button.  You can click on the voicemail button next to the Answer call button to send the incoming call to voicemail.

NOTE: You may have to pick up your handset to join the call. Some device models will not automatically activate your speaker when making an outbound call. If you are using a headset, whether the phone will auto-answer will depend on its make, model, and current configuration.

Transferring a Call

Drag and Drop

You can drag and drop the call onto another user to transfer to them, when you do, a menu will pop up prompting for warm or blind transfer.
