Common Phone List
The common phone list allows for a list of contacts to be stored on your account that most physical devices can search. If you have a Poly device, Nextiva can push the directory list to the local directory of the device. For other manufacturers, Nextiva will enable a searchable directory on the device, allowing users to search for contacts stored on the account or other users on the account.
If you have a list of contacts you want stored on your account, please format the file as a .csv with just the names and numbers. Click here for a template file.
Please ensure the following criteria are met:
- Only 2 columns: name and number
- Names should be listed as first and last name (i.e. John Smith)
- Numbers should be listed without any dashes (i.e. 8002857995)
- No special characters, only letters, numbers, and spaces can be used
- No duplicate numbers, a phone number can only appear once in the directory file
Example:
"Name","number"
“Jane B Doe",“3015551231"
“Jane M Doe","3015551232″
“Jane W Doe",“3015551233"
“John B Doe",“3015551234"
“John D Doe",“3015551235"
NOTE: Nextiva recommends modifying the file in a text editor such as notepad. We have found that Excel adds extra " characters to the file.
Once your list has been created, email it to support@nextiva.com. In your email include the following information:
- Account Number
- Your Name
- Your Security PIN
- A list of users or devices this file should be pushed to
Once our support team has the file, they will upload it to your account and adjust your phone configuration to access the directory. Please be aware some devices may need a reboot for the change to take effect.
