Nextiva NEXT - Add a Device
Administrators within the NEXT platform are able to add supported desk and cordless phones to their account. When adding a new device, you can configure the following settings.
- Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) softkey buttons
- Busy Lamp Field (BLF)
- Custom line key labels
- Time Zone
NOTE: These settings are applied during device setup and cannot be modified on devices already configured.

Currently, the NEXT platform supports the following manufacturers and models:

Add a Device in NEXT Admin
- In NEXT Admin, go to Admin, then select Devices.
- Select Add device.
- Complete the required fields:
- Choose a phone. Select the device model.
- MAC address. Enter the device MAC address.
- Line key label.
- The system automatically generates a label based on the user’s extension.
- You can modify this label if needed.
- Optional. Update any of the following fields, then select Save:
- Assign user
- Time zone
- Defaults to the account time zone.
- Enable device for shared inbox calls
- Enabling this option applies ACD custom tags to the device.
- Wait for provisioning to complete.
- It may take a few minutes for the device's unique configuration file to be built.
- You may be prompted to reboot the device to complete provisioning.
- Confirm the device status.
- After provisioning, the device appears under Admin > Devices.
- The device status changes to Online when it is ready to use.
Customize the Line Key Label
To display a custom label on the phone, update the Line key label field when adding the device. The default value is the user’s extension.
If the device is already added, click the More options (…) menu on the right-hand side of the device and select Edit Device.
Unassign a User or Remove a Device
After a device is added, manage it using the More options (…) menu.
- Select Unassign user to remove the user from the device.
- Select Remove device to delete the device from the account.
Use ACD on Poly Phones
Use the following visual indicators to confirm whether the phone is signed in to a Shared Inbox.
Not Signed In
- Softkey displays ASignIn
- Agent status does not appear
- The line key icon is white
Signed In and Available
- Selecting Available signs the phone into the Shared Inbox
- Softkeys display Unavailable or ASignOut
- Agent status appears at the top of the screen
- Line key icon turns green
Signed In and Unavailable
- Selecting Unavailable keeps the phone signed in but changes the agent state
- Softkeys display Available or ASignOut
- Agent status remains visible
- Line key icon turns grey with a red X
Use ACD on Yealink Phones
Behavior varies slightly by model.
- T44W and T46U support ACD softkeys.
- W70B DECT phones only support Feature Access Codes (FAC). You can configure FAC codes as speed dials.
