Overview

Use this guide to install and connect the Google Calendar integration from the NEXT Marketplace.

The Google Calendar integration gives Xbert AI Employees direct access to your calendar. AI Employees can check free time slots, create new appointments, update existing meetings, and cancel bookings automating scheduling tasks without manual intervention and keeping your calendar accurate in real time.

Note: A Google Calendar account is required to use this integration. The Google Calendar integration is compatible with Xbert AI only.

Before You Begin

Ensure the following:

  • You have an active Google account with access to Google Calendar.

  • You know which authentication method your setup requires OAuth 2.0 (personal or team use) or Service account (automated or server-to-server use).

  • You have permission to install apps in the NEXT Marketplace.

Install Google Calendar in NEXT

Step 1: Open the App in Marketplace

  1. Select App marketplace in the left navigation.

  2. Select Google Calendar.

  3. Select Install.

 

You will see a confirmation screen titled:

You are about to add Google Calendar for NEXT

  1. Select the checkbox to accept the Terms and Privacy Policy.

  2. Select Next.

 

Step 2: Connect

On the Connect screen, complete the following:

 

Authentication type

Select the authentication method that matches your setup:

 
 
 

Option

When to use

OAuth 2.0

Personal or team Google accounts — authenticates via Sign in with Google

Service account

Automated or server-to-server access — uses a Google service account key

 
 
 

OAuth 2.0 (recommended for most users)

  1. Select OAuth 2.0 from the Authentication type dropdown.

  2. Select Sign in with Google.

  3. Complete the Google authentication flow in the browser window that opens.

  4. Grant the requested calendar permissions when prompted.

  5. After successful sign-in, select Next.

Service account

  1. Select Service account from the Authentication type dropdown.

  2. Enter your Google service account credentials as required.

  3. Select Connect, then select Next.

Installation Complete

If the authentication is successful, you will see the Review screen confirming the installation is complete.

Select:

  • Done to exit, or

  • Manage apps to review the integration.

Verify the Connection

After installation:

  1. Select App marketplace in the left navigation, then select Manage apps.

  2. Select Google Calendar.

  3. Confirm the status shows Active.

  4. Initiate a test interaction in NEXT that involves a Google Calendar scheduling action.

  5. Confirm the appointment or availability data appears correctly.

Troubleshooting

Sign in with Google fails

  • Confirm you are signing in with the correct Google account.

  • Verify the account has access to Google Calendar.

  • Try signing in again browser pop-up blockers can sometimes interrupt the Google authentication flow.

Service account authentication fails

  • Verify the service account credentials are correct and belong to the correct Google Cloud project.

  • Confirm the service account has been granted access to the relevant Google Calendar.

Integration status not showing Active

  • Return to App marketplace → Manage apps and check if the connection shows an error state.

  • Select Google Calendar and sign in again.

  • Reconnect the integration.

Appointments or availability not syncing

  • Confirm the signed-in Google account has access to the relevant calendars.

  • If using a service account, verify it has been shared on the target calendars with at least editor permissions.

  • Reconnect the integration if necessary.
