Overview

Use this guide to install and connect the Cal.com integration from the NEXT Marketplace.

The Cal.com integration gives Xbert AI Employees direct access to your Cal.com scheduling. AI Employees can check free time slots, create new appointments, update existing meetings, and cancel bookings — automating scheduling tasks without manual intervention and keeping your calendar accurate in real time.

Note: A Cal.com account is required to use this integration. The Cal.com integration is compatible with Xbert AI only.

Before You Begin

Ensure the following:

  • You have an active Cal.com account.

  • You can access your Cal.com API key.

  • You have permission to install apps in the NEXT Marketplace.

Install Cal.com in NEXT

Step 1: Open the App in Marketplace

  1. Select App marketplace in the left navigation.

  2. Select Cal.com.

  3. Select Install.

 

You will see a confirmation screen titled:

You are about to add Cal.com for NEXT

  1. Select the checkbox to accept the Terms and Privacy Policy.

  2. Select Next.

 

Step 2: Connect

On the Connect screen, complete the following fields:

 

Connection type

Defaults to Cloud. Leave this as Cloud unless your organization uses an on-premises group.

Authentication type

Displays Header auth. This is pre-selected.

Header authorization

Under Header authorization, enter the following:

Bearer <your Cal.com API key>

 
 
 

To find your Cal.com API key:

  1. Log in to your Cal.com account.

  2. Navigate to Settings → Developer → API keys.

  3. Generate a new API key if one does not already exist.

  4. Copy the API key.

  5. Return to NEXT and paste it as the value in the Authorization header field.

Endpoint has case-sensitive headers?

Leave as No.

Base URL

Pre-filled with https://api.cal.com. Do not modify this value.

Use custom TLS/SSL certificate settings

Leave as No.

After completing all fields, select Connect, then select Next.

Installation Complete

If the API key is valid, you will see the Review screen confirming the installation is complete.

Select:

  • Done to exit, or

  • Manage apps to review the integration.

Verify the Connection

After installation:

  1. Select App marketplace in the left navigation, then select Manage apps.

  2. Select Cal.com.

  3. Confirm the status shows Active.

  4. Initiate a test interaction in NEXT that involves a Cal.com scheduling action.

  5. Confirm the appointment or availability data appears correctly.

Troubleshooting

Invalid API key

  • Confirm you copied the full API key without any extra spaces.

  • Verify the key was generated from the correct Cal.com account.

  • If the key has expired or been revoked, navigate to Settings → Developer → API keys in Cal.com , generate a new key, and reconnect.

Integration status not showing Active

  • Return to App marketplace → Manage apps and check if the connection shows an error state.

  • Select Cal.com and re-enter the API key in the Authorization header.

  • Reconnect the integration.

Appointments or availability not syncing

  • Confirm the API key has not been revoked or regenerated in Cal.com .

  • Verify the Base URL is set to https://api.cal.com.

  • Reconnect the integration if necessary.
