NextivaONE - Set Default Audio Device

Within NextivaONE settings you can control the audio device used by default for all phone calls and meetings.

To adjust the default audio settings:

For uses using the web version of our application, you will need to give your browser permission to use your microphone and camera.  Click here for steps on how to do this.
 

1. Click your initials in the upper right-hand corner of the app.
    
2. Select My settings from the drop-down menu.
   
   
    
3. In the window that appears, select Audio on the left-hand side.
   
   
    
4. Use the drop-down options to select the audio devices the app should use.  To always use the system default options, select Default. If no options appear, click here.
   
   Microphone - Used for calls and meetings.
   Speaker - Used for calls and meetings.
   Ringing and Notification Output - Used for all ringers and notification sounds.
   
   
    
5. To test the microphone, speak into it.  The level bars should turn dark grey if audio is detected.
   
   
    
6. To test the selected speaker, click the Test button. A chime noise will play out of the speakers.
   
   

No Devices Shown

If you are attempting to set your audio devices and the drop-down menu is completely blank, try the following steps:

1. Close the NextivaONE application. To ensure the application fully closes, follow these steps:
   
   
   1. In the application, select the Nextiva menu at the top of the application.
      
      
   2. Choose Quit Nextiva.
      
      
      
      
2. Verify that your speakers and microphone are recognized by your computer and the NextivaONE application has access to them.

3. Relaunch the NextivaONE application.
   
   
4. If the options to select sound are still blank, contact Nexitva support.

Browser Permission

NextivaONE works best on Google Chrome.  The steps below walk through how to enable camera and microphone permission for NextivaONE in Chrome.

The first time you attempt to use your camera or Microphone the browser should prompt for permission to use your camera and microphone.



Select either Allow this time or Allow on every visit.

Allow this time will allow NextivaONE to use your camera or microphone during this browsing session. If the page is reloaded or you sign out of the application, you will have to give permission again.

Allow on every visit will allow NextivaONE to use your camera or microphone every time you log in.  You will not need to give permission again.

If your browser does NOT prompt you for permission to use your camera or microphone, you can click the site settings button next to the URL and toggle camera or microphone permission on or off. If you make changes, you will be prompted to reload the page.
