Record an Auto Attendant Greeting from a Phone

Recording Greetings
Record announcements for the business and after-hours menu of your Auto Attendant from any phone. First, build out your auto attendant. Once it’s set up, you can record a greeting from either your Nextiva phone or a non-Nextiva phone.
From a non-Nextiva phone
- Ensure the option Allow Extension Dialing During Greeting is enabled within the Auto Attendant settings.
- Dial your main Nextiva phone number assigned to the Auto Attendant.
- At any time during the Auto Attendant greeting, dial 9999.
- At any time during the initial voice portal greeting, press the * key.
- When prompted for the mailbox ID, dial 9999.
- Enter the passcode followed by #.
NOTE: The default passcode is 0000.
- Press 1 to change the Auto Attendant greeting.
NOTE: If there are multiple Auto Attendants on your account, you will be prompted to enter the Auto Attendant ID (the extension of the Auto Attendant where you are recording a greeting).
- To change the business hours greeting, press 1. To change the after-hours greeting, press 2. For a full list of the options available in the menu, click here.
- Press 1 to record a new greeting.
- Start recording after the tone. Press # to end recording.
XBert Tip: Call the Auto Attendant and listen to the greeting to ensure proper configuration.
From a Nextiva phone
- Dial 9999.
- At any time during the initial greeting, press the * key.
- When asked for the mailbox ID, dial 9999.
- Enter the Auto Attendant passcode (0000) followed by #.
- Press 1 to change your Auto Attendant greeting.
NOTE: If there are multiple Auto Attendants on your account, you will be prompted to enter the Auto Attendant ID (the extension of the Auto Attendant where you are recording a greeting).

- Press 1 to record a new greeting.
- Start recording after the tone. Press # to end recording.
